Mark Zoradi, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group, announced that Disney-Pixar will be releasing a special double feature of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in Disney Digital 3D on October 2nd, 2009. The Toy Story double feature will be a 2-week limited engagement only. Toy Story, which is “the industry’s first ever computer-animated feature” and “the first feature released by Pixar Animation Studios in 1995″ and the sequel, Toy Story 2, was released in 1999. Tron Legacy 3D is a sequel to the 1982 film, Tron. The film will be presented in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D. Footage was released at the 2008 and 2009 Comic-Con. Schulman Dogwood 6 Theatres, located at 545 E. Palestine Ave. in Palestine, Florida has upgraded their 35mm Cinema 4 in May 2009 to a  new Dolby Digital Cinema system that plays both regular digital movies and high-quality 3D films at the push of a button. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world and takes place in late August or early September ever year on the island of the Lido, Venice, Italy. It is one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals and this year, it’s 66th edition, they will be including a 3D Prize.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, the award will go to “the most creative feature film among those in steroscopic 3D produced between September 2008 and August 2009″. James Cameron is turning August 21st into Avatar Day with the broadcast of 15-minutes of his long-awaited Avatar 3D Film being shown at IMAX theaters around the world. 20th Century Fox will show the 15-minutes of Avatar footage, in 3D, for FREE, at as many IMAX cinemas around the world as they can. The Crystal Method’s music will be coming to you this summer in a new full-length 3D movie called X Games 3D: The Movie, which is the first sports-themed 3D film. The movie is due to be released in 3D country-wide on August 21st, 2009. The electronic music from The Crystal Method will be featured throughout the film including original soundtracks and reworked versions of previous material.
