Today sees the release of James Cameron’s eagerly anticipated 3D epic, AVATAR. Already AVATAR has grossed a massive $1m just from advance ticket sales at London’s British Film Institute IMAX cinema. The BFI IMAX will be staying open 24hours a day to handle the huge demand AVATAR has created. The cinema has sold a total of 47,487 tickets which according to Fox is more than any other outlet in the world across all formats. Source: screendaily.com
