In-Three and Reliance Media Works to Create the World’s Largest 3D Conversion Facility.

The 2D to 3D conversion pioneer, In-Three,  just joined forces with India’s fastest growing film and entertainment service, Reliance Media Works Ltd,  to create the world’s largest 2D to 3D conversion facility. In-Three’s conversion of feature films was highlighted this year within the 3D blockbuster ‘G-Force’, which grossed over $200 million in box office receipts worldwide. In-Three has a very impressive list of clients lined up for 2010, and they are currently completing work on their next Hollywood title. This  partnership has been created to take advantage of the rapidly growing demand from Hollywood studios for the conversion of older films and new ones shot in 2D into stereoscopic 3D. This new partnership sees the combination of Reliance Media Works expertise and In-Three’s fantastic reputation and advanced software tools for Dimensionalization. Now the companies will be working together, they are expecting to be able to handle 15-25 feature films per year and they will initially involve hundreds, and later thousands of dedicated staff working to the highest possible technical standards. Reliance Media Works and In-Three will begin work on their first joint title at the beginning of 2010, and they also have plans for several other projects to begin in the first half of next year. The partnership that is dedicated to stereoscopic 3D conversion will benefit from the proprietary image processing tools which were developed by Reliance Media Works Burbank-based subsidiary ‘Lowry Digital’, which is Hollywood’s top film restoration expert. Stereoscopic 3D movies have recently grown in popularity, and the demand for more is clearly visible when you look at Hollywood’s current production schedule, and the excitement James Cameron’s 3D blockbuster, ’AVATAR’ has caused. The number of 3D movie theaters worldwide will rise to over 7,000 this year, and up to 15,000 by 2013! Source:  stereoscopy.com
