Insight Media, the research leader in the Emerging Display Technology Market has just published their 2009 Stereoscopic 3D Gaming Report titled, ‘A Comprehensive Analysis of S-3D Technology for Gaming’. Insight Medias groundbreaking report revealed that the stereoscopic 3D market is expected to grow from a few 3D-capable displays and a few thousand gamers, to an amazing worldwide market of over 40 million 3D capable displays by as early as 2014.

The President of Insight Media, Chris Chinnock, said that; “we have spent considerable time on our forecasting methodology and believe we have created something that is truly groundbreaking. For the report, Optimistic, expected and conservative forecasts were developed for 3D-capable displays, with another forecast that was designed to estimate just how many of the 3D displays are used by gamers.

The report gives a thorough analysis of all 3D gaming aspects and 3D display infrastructure. As well as the results gathered from the forecasts, data from testing 24 3D games on the different 3D capable monitors is included in the report.

The lead analyst on the report, Dale H. Maunu announced that; “We have played Stereoscopic 3D games for hundreds of hours and can report that the latest technology does not result in eye strain or fatigue. Our experience leads us to believe that S-3D gaming is more immersive and compelling than traditional gaming on a 2D screen, and it will help drive 3D adoption.”
