Sony’s Single Lens 3D Camera: New 3D Technology

As The Explore Media Group team went to the CEATEC Exhibition on Tokyo, Japan, Al Caudullo had an exclusive interview with Yochihiko Kuriko, Sony’s Chief Engineer of Sony’s Single Lens 3D Camera project. Sony Single Lens 3D Camera can record the fast moving object such as sports at 240 frames per second. It is a new technology that Sony use to record the video in 3D. It shown that the 240fps frame rate makes it difficult for human to detect differences among a blur and jerkiness of moving images. Yochihiko Kuriko said that this is only the prototype model of Sony’s Single Lens 3D Camera. Sony wants to develop this Camera to be smaller and better to use in 3D film production. Yochihiko hopes that Sony’s Single Lens 3D Camera will improve a 3D filming technology to be smoother and easier for people to enjoy 3D films.
