It has been announced that Citrus Valley Health Partners are the first full-service hospital system to offer its patients surgery using the new, most advanced version of the ‘Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci Si HD system’ technology.

The da Vinci Si HD system integrates three dimensional high-definition endoscopy (which is surgery that is performed through small holes in a patient’s body) and state of the art technology to virtually extend the surgeons hands and eyes when operating.

This new 3D HD visualization gives the surgeon a panoramic view, which results in the highest possible viewing area and resolution. The technology is still in its early days, however the president and CEO of Citrus Valley Health Partners said that “We are only starting to realize the full potential of this new technology.”
