Sony Pictures is planning to produce Zombieland in 3D. 3D films are progressively becoming a hit for maximizing profits, giving many recent films — such as Sony’s “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” — a momentous increase. Zombieland producer Gavin Polone, said, “Everyone had fun watching (the first) Zombieland; making it a more visceral experience can only make it better. I don’t think you want to see ‘Ordinary People’ in 3-D. But Zombieland is clearly one movie that will benefit from (the technique).” Sony has closed deals with Polone and director Ruben Fleischer to return for the sequel, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returning to pen the screenplay. ‘Zombieland’ was one of 2009’s most loved movies and despite it being released not so long ago, there is already talk of a sequel, only this time Zombieland will be coming at you in 3D!

The movie’s director Ruben Fleischer announced in a recent interview that he is ready to pick up the zombie killing rule book once more and begin slaughtering the undead in a whole new way. Fleischer said that “a sequel to a massively successful comedy horror film starring Woody Harrelson must be in 3D.” The huge success the genre has recently had within the 3D cinema world will surely encourage this project to be released with a three dimensional aspect to it. ‘My Bloody Valentine’ and ‘Final Destination 3D’ were well received by audiences, so surely witnessing the legendary Woody Harrelson slaughter some zombies right in front of your face is a must see for gore loving audiences.
